CBSE Clarifies Protocol for Exam Paper Observations

CBSE Clarifies Protocol for Exam Paper Observations

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently noticed a trend in the feedback process concerning Board Examinations for Class X and XII, which commenced today. Schools have historically been invited to share their observations or report issues with the question papers through the Online Examination Center Management System (OECMS). However, this year, certain patterns have prompted the CBSE to issue a call for a more streamlined and efficient process.

It has been observed that schools are directing their feedback to various email IDs not intended for this purpose, leading to a scattering of critical observations. Additionally, the responses from schools are often delayed and lack specificity, which hampers the Board’s ability to make timely and accurate enhancements. For instance, generic comments like “The question is not correct” are being reported without detailed explanations of the inaccuracies.

To address these issues and optimize the feedback process, the CBSE has set forth clear instructions:

  1. Schools must upload their observations directly onto the OECMS platform.
  2. Should further clarification be needed, detailed explanations can be sent to the designated email address: qpobservation@cbseshiksha.in
  3. Observations must be submitted on the same day the examination is conducted to ensure prompt attention and action.

The CBSE emphasizes that observations that are vague, submitted late, do not comply with the provided instructions, or are not sent through the official channels, will not be considered. This directive underscores the importance of precise, timely, and appropriately channeled communication to maintain the integrity and quality of the examination process.

Schools are urged to act immediately and adhere to these revised protocols to enable the CBSE to take appropriate and effective measures. The Board counts on the cooperation of all affiliated schools to ensure a fair and smooth examination experience for all students.
